Ever seen the disrespectful teenager at the table, or the soccer mom on her phone for two hours raising the phone bill, or the little brother playing Flappy Bird until he finally get past level 10 (five hours later)? Answered yes to any, we can see clearly that cell phones have changed our lives greatly. They have changed us from the way it has made us more addicted to them and by the convenience of them.

A teenager might find it important when hearing the chime of the bell on their cell phone go off, and look at it at in the middle of dinner. For example, soccer mom is driving 50 miles per hour and all of a sudden her iPhone goes bing. The immediate response would be to check it. But in a flash of a second your back siding the big black Toyota with a whole family inside it. This being the harsh reality of wanting to check the hot pink iPhone 5c is very alarming and a very dangerous conclusion to being addicted. Being addicted is one way cell phones have affected us and will keep on affecting us if we don’t take precautions. Cell phones are changing us by the way we let them take over our brains. For example, a five year old child is done with their twenty minutes of reading and asks his parents “can I please play on your iPhone mommy?” The parent see no harm and say yes, but soon thirty minutes turn into an hour and then two, and soon the child is stuck addicting game of Flappy Bird until its time to fall asleep. This happens not only on games but on social medias such as Instagram, Twitter, Youtube, and snap-chat. As you can see even though the child finished their work for school they are still able to get addicted to the game or social media apps that are so easy to get on their parent’s cell phone. It is important to set a timer or know what an appropriate time to get on a cell phone so the brain doesn’t turn to mush.

Cell phones have changed our lives tremendously by the way we use them for work. An English teacher grading what seems to be an unending pile of papers. She being as eager as she is wants to try out a new online writing site. This has not only changed the way she works but also how the children are learning. Not only can she grade the papers on her new Android, but also give feed back even if the student is in the same room as her or one hour away at a high school basketball game. She can get back to them in a matter of seconds. Not only teachers but doctors can use cell phone to the advantage that science and medicine is growing at a quick pace nowadays. Doctors right now are finding a way for you to in a way of video chatting in real time. Where you would contact them, say your symptoms, and they would prescribe you medicine for your sickness. This would take less time than having to book a checkup, go to the actual doctor, and then wait. As you can see cell phones have changed our way of using it for work in a tremendous way.

Cell phones have changed for the bad of getting addicted and the good for the way of using it for our work, but we get to decide which one we choose.
